models can take weeks to months depending on how much detail goes into them. Well a hell of a lot of effort goes into making some of these 3D models, and then to skin/texturize them on top of it. How about i grab your construction tools and plans to build my own house.i bet you wouldnt be happy about it.

So its only a matter of time to get to todays standards, currently i only use my skill to construct my own radio controlled aircrafts and i plan to give some of the plans away-but thats a personal private decision.Īnd btw i still have a toilet in the backyard, because the house i live in was constructed in the year 1840.but dont worry, since 1976 we have modern toilets and we dont need to carry water in buckets from our fountain into the house anymore so we could wash ourself or cook, open fire ya know.Īnd as you noticed we are not in the construction area here, we are in the software area, so live with how the world is setup. Or maybe even high poly subdivision modelling, im not limited to low poly work alone:

may i give you an example:Ĩ-10k poly, addon cars for Crashday i did additionally during development. What i believe is that even after 10 years my game models are still showable. dunno what that has to do with the topic. What we did at that time was rendering these information into the basic texture. I had to deal with very low polycount and small textures without any additional maps like normal maps, bump mapping etc in the beginning. Yes game models are much more complex than 10-12years ago. If you grab them you are violating copyright ownership, much like grabbing songs from artists and using that or copying books and using the intellectual property for your own.

The models i made during my work as game artist are the property of the companies i worked for at that time. The copyright was more important than your personal improvement, okay, I got it.ģdmax2.0 -3dmax9 licenses here, so i come from the dark ages where you used Dos 6.0 apps.no fancy MS Windows. Maybe that happened because you didn't have the minimum 5000 euros to pay for a proper 3D aplication licence, to learn it. I wonder what kind of 3d artist you were if the WT engine, beautiful yet limited as it is, surpases your skills. Why would anyone want that is beyond me.Īnd yes, 3d aplications (including the one I'm using) do get better than the game engine can. It's good to see you people knowing and careing about copyright, but seeing you being arogant in requesting copyright to keep everything dumb and expensive, for you included, is hard to explain if inteligent persons are involved. Or worse, you would have the toilet in your backyard, with no plumbing, basicaly a hole in the ground.Īnd you would have some kind of backyard simply because any building with more than one level would be the copyright of an unyque company/dude, asking more than it's worth. In my profession (let's call it construction industry), if copyright would be the same as in software and general IT space you would still sleep, eat and whatever in the same room you sh*t. Wanna buy some of my models, i give you a discount prize, Mr Spielberg. I am sure you can top the graphic quality compared to WT in your 3d application.but if your that skilled for what do you need 3d models of other artists then?

You will make a movie with exported 3d models to hype WT.
